What you can make with arcade stitch
Picking your colors correctly will make the difference between ending up with a cozy sweater or a cheery afghan.
Crocheting does not have to be limited to just blankets and pieces of clothing. Jar cozies are another creative use for the arcade stitch. Its lacy appearance adds a touch of elegance to the jars.
To do a small practice run on the arcade stitch, Catalina Stan recommends starting with a chain of 26. She points out that the arcade stitch is made up of multiples of eight. Once your chain is complete, place one sc in chain 24 and one sc in chain 23. Chain five chains and skip the next five chains of your foundation chain. Place one sc in the next three chains. Repeat this pattern until you reach the end of the foundation chain.

Chain one and turn. Place a sc in the previous row's sc. Skip the next sc. Place nine dcs in the five chain space. Skip one sc and place a sc in the next sc and skip the final sc in the set of three. Repeat the pattern of dcs and sc to the end of the row.
