How to crochet the yo-yo pattern (video tutorial)

Watch how to crochet the yo-yo stitch in the video above.
The yo-yo stitch is a very unique, circular stitch that is made only of double crochets and worked in the round. It is perfect for afghans, wall decor, or even shawls and scarves. One of the best perks of the yo-yo pattern, however, is that it also is ideal for getting rid of leftover yarn since you can make each individual yo-yo with a different color.

Materials
Any weight yarn. In the video above I use worsted weight.
Corresponding hook size to match your yarn. I used a 5mm hook.
Pro Tip: Relax and have fun with this stitch. The technique is unconventional and a bit cumbersome at first, but it gets easier as you continue.
