How to crochet little heart shapes

Hearts cord stitch tutorial
Makes a chain of hearts.
Use alone, sew on as embellishment or trim.
Work one side of a heart, turn work the other half.
Hearts are worked upside down.
Heart 1
Foundation chain: slip knot, ch 4.
* yo, insert in 4th ch fr hook (i.e. 1st st),
pull up a loop,
pull through until loops are even w/ ch 4.
Repeat 4 more times in same st,
11 loops on hook (5 pairs + 1).
yo, pull through 1st 2 loops on hook.
yo, pull through next 3 loops on hook.
Repeat previous line until 2 loops remain on hook *.
Pull the slip knot closed again (i.e. tighten the ch st).
Remove hook from last 2 loops.
Turn work, return 2 loops to hook.
Repeat half first half of heart (from * to *), working into other side of the same st.
yo, pull through all 3 loops on hook.
First heart complete.

Ch3
* yo, insert hook under 3 loops you pulled a loop through at the tip of the previous heart,
pull up a loop,
pull through until loops are even w/ ch3.
Repeat 5 more times in same st,
13 loops on hook (6 pairs + 1).
yo, pull through 1st 2 loops on hook.
yo, pull through next 3 loops on hook.
Repeat previous line until 2 loops remain on hook *.
Remove hook from last 2 loops.
Turn work, return 2 loops to hook.
Repeat first half of heart (from * to *), working in other side of 3 loops.
yo, pull through all 3 loops on hook.
Second heart complete.

Repeat Heart 2 to desired length.

This stitch is fun to use when you want to add texture to a project. You also get to control to some degree how fluffy the stitch will be.
