In the video above, I teach you to crochet the bouillon stitch, which makes a unique coil of yarn by wrapping the yarn around the hook several times. You can work it in a ring by itself as a flower, or incorporate it in any row or round to add a textured embellishment to hats, scarves, blankets, and more.
The difficult part is pulling the hook through the yarn overs without it catching on them. A couple tricks in this video make it a stress-free stitch. With a little practice, you'll be mastering the bullion crochet stitch in no time!

Materials
Any weight yarn. In the video above I used worsted weight yarn.
Crochet hook in the appropriate size for the yarn used. I used a 5.5 mm hook.
Any smooth stick like a straw, tapestry needle, pen, chopstick, etc. I used a 3.75 mm knitting needle.

- Hold the knitting needle along the top of the crochet hook.
- Yo both the hook and the needle 7 times
- Insert just the hook into next st. You may want to slide all the yarn forward a bit and slide the needle back a bit.
- Yo just the hook and pull up a loop.
- Yo just the hook again.
- Now you’re going to pull it through all the loops on the hook, without catching on any loops, with the following pro tips.
- Spin the hook so it’s angled down and slide the needle flush with the hook again.
- Pull through the first loop on the hook.
- Spin the hook so it’s angled up.
- Pull through all but the last loop on hook.
- Spin the hook so it’s angled down again.
- Pull through the last loop on the hook.
Bullion stitch complete.
